Cell C and Old Mutual Insure unite to bring warmth, joy and hope to hundreds of Limpopo Learners.

This Youth Month Cell C and Old Mutual Insure joined forces to support learners in Giyani and Venda, Limpopo - not just with school essentials, but with a strong show of solidarity and care.

The Winter Back-to-School initiative spans 13 schools across the two regions and is a hands-on effort led by employees from both organisations, who volunteered their time to pack and distribute care boxes filled with warm clothing, school shoes, and stationery. These items may seem small, but for a child facing a cold morning with little, they mean the difference tween feeling left out and feeling ready to learn.

What made this initiative powerful wasn’t just the donation of goods, but the spirit in which it was done - together. Staff from Cell C and Old Mutual Insure, alongside partners like Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation, Kids Vision SA, and Kasi Hero Foundation, joined forces with a shared belief: that no child should be held back by circumstances beyond their control.

By combining efforts, the initiative will reach hundreds of learners, creating moments of joy, dignity, and hope, and reinforcing a simple truth: allyship in action makes the greatest impact.

Lethiwe Hlatshwayo, Cell C’s Managing Executive: Corporate Affairs, says, “We wanted to show up with heart, as people, as partners, and as a collective determined to make a difference. It reflects Cell C’s purpose to stand in allyship to change lives, to be more than a  service provider. In every box packed and every smile shared, was a message to the learners that: we see you, we’re with you, and we believe in your future”.
