Cell C's Chief HR Officer, Juba Mashaba delivered an enlightening keynote speech at the HRBP (Human Resource Business Partners) Conference hosted by the prestigious Gordon Institute of Business Science in Johannesburg. The Conference brought together HR professionals from various industries to explore the future role of Human Resource Business during turbulent times.
With his extensive experience in HR leadership and strategic thinking, Juba Mashaba shared engaging and thought-provoking insights into navigating uncertainty and fostering resilience in an ever-changing business landscape. On the concept of "Be The Change", he engaged the audience by discussing these pertinent points:
Rapid shifts in the workplace mean that HR Business Partnering has taken on a completely different shape, which requires it to focus on looking ahead to shape the modern workplaces of the future and prepare accordingly. Organisations will require agility, productivity, collaboration and innovation if they are to respond well to changing environments.

Juba Mashaba
Juba Mashaba brings more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles across various human resources (HR) functions from leading global and South African multinational companies. These include PepsiCo Sub-Saharan Africa, Arcelor-Mittal, and the Aveng Group.
His impressive track record in HR strategy and execution has seen him successfully leading large scale restructuring, capability building, performance-based remuneration practices as well as shifting organisational culture to a more performance orientated one.
As Cell C Chief Human Resources Officer, Juba's priority is on cultivating Cell C's culture and recalibrating the people practices to align to the company's new operating model. His focus is on redefining high-performance standards to support a results-driven company culture.
For Juba, change is necessary to bring about a secure, exciting, and sustainable future for Cell C, and it starts with its people.
Juba graduated from the University of Swaziland with a BA Law degree and an LLB. He also completed a HR executive programme at the University of Michigan Business School, and a Management Advancement Program at Wits Business School.
