Hazyview, Mpumalanga – 03 May 2024 - Cell C, one of SA’s leading telecommunication companies, reaffirmed its commitment to community development and socio-economic empowerment through a handover event aimed at contributing towards addressing pressing water needs in the Mpumalanga region.

The event, held today in Hazyview, marked another milestone in Cell C's ongoing efforts to support communities.

Amidst the scenic landscapes of Mpumalanga, Cell C handed over Jojo tanks to Masoyi Primary School and Khanyisani Secondary School. These water resources will play an important role in alleviating water scarcity challenges faced by these educational institutions and the surrounding communities.

Joshua Moela, Government Relations Executive at Cell C, said this handover signifies Cell C's steadfast commitment to uplifting communities.

"Through our network expansion efforts and needs-based corporate social investment initiatives, we aim to create tangible positive impact, addressing connectivity needs while enriching communities. By expanding coverage and enhancing network reliability, Cell C is ensuring that communities, including those in remote areas, have access to seamless communication and internet services.”

“We are also acutely aware of the water scarcity challenges in the Mpumalanga region and thought it right that we help alleviate this, which will positively impact the broader community." Moela added.

Cell C extends its gratitude to all stakeholders, including community leaders, local authorities, and partnering organisations, for their support in realising these impactful initiatives.
