CELL C DONATES PHONES TO DEEP CLEANING COVID-19 CAMPAIGN FIELDWORKERS IN LIMPOPO

Monday, 20 April 2020

Cell C has responded to a request from the Limpopo MEC for Health, Phophi Ramathuba, to aid 500 fieldworkers who are involved in the Deep Cleaning Campaign at Polokwane Hospital.

The campaign is a part of efforts to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the province; Limpopo has 26 diagnosed Coronavirus cases and 18 people who have recovered. However, the province experienced its first death due to the virus last week.

A donation of 500 phones was delivered to the workers at the weekend on Saturday 18th April 2020. Each handset contains 2GB of data, 900 Cell C minutes (45 mins on other networks) all valid for 30 days.

“We believe that this donation will make a difference to the lives of the fieldworkers who are doing such tremendous work in difficult conditions to curb the spread of Covid-19,” says Juliet Mhango, Cell C’s Chief Human Capital Development and Transformation Officer.

“Cell C continues to play its part in helping our customers and communities stay connected, informed and safe particularly during this trying time with this global health crisis,” she says.
