Saturday, November 18: Miss World South Africa Adè van Heerden made the Top 10 at the Miss World competition in China today.

Twenty-six-year-old Van Heerden represented South Africa against 123 other countries in the competition which was won by Miss India Manushi Chhillar.

The Top 10 finalists were Miss England, Miss France, Miss India, Miss Indonesia, Miss Jamaica, Miss Kenya, Miss Korea, Miss Mexico, Miss Russia and Miss South Africa.

The 67th Miss World competition took place at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China (People's Republic of China).

Van Heerden, a qualified doctor from the Western Cape, is a second lieutenant in the South African Military Health Services. She won Protea colours in rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 13 and was a gold medal winner at the All African Championships.

Miss South Africa 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will take part in the 66th Miss Universe pageant which takes place at The Axis in Las Vegas on Sunday, November 26. Adè, who was the runner–up at this year’s Miss South Africa pageant, competed on the Miss World stage as Miss World South Africa 2017, as Nel-Peters will be competing in the same month in the Miss Universe contest.
