A radiant Ntandoyenkosi Kunene woke up this morning as Miss South Africa 2016 to a busy schedule. Aside from media interviews she also received the keys to her new vehicle – a Nissan Juke 1.6 DIG-T Tekna complete with sunroof and navigation system.
As well as the car, her prize package includes cash, a luxury skiing holiday and products together valued at more than R2 million. She also gets thousands of rands in cash and study bursaries to award to South Africans that she meets during her reign.
Kunene – a 23-year-old education honours student from Mpumalanga who was studying at Wits when she took the title – was crowned Miss South Africa 2016 at a glittering ceremony held at Carnival City on Saturday, presented by Sun International in collaboration with Cell C.
Her parents – Christopher and Baby Kunene – were on hand to celebrate with their daughter.
Runners-up wereElizabeth Molapo from the Freestate (1st Princess) and Tayla Skye Robinson from Gauteng (2nd Princess).
