SEE YOUTH by Cell C hosts Youth Day "in Business" event to Empower Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs

Thursday, 15 June 2023

Pretoria, South Africa – 15 June 2023 - Cell C, a leading telecommunications provider in South Africa, joined forces with like-minded partners to host an impactful youth event to introduce 60 young girls and boys to the world of entrepreneurship. This event, held on 15 June 2023 in Freedom Park Pretoria, aimed to inspire and equip these young people with the necessary knowledge and resources to be able to see self-employment as one of the options to pursue as a means of livelihood.

The SEE YOUTH "In Business" event powered by Cell C provided an engaging space for the 60 youngsters to learn about the different aspects of entrepreneurship, which included motivational talks, interactive sessions, and opportunities to engage directly with partners and potential mentors. The event also facilitated networking opportunities with partners and organizations that all share the same vision of empowering youth.

In response to a vastly changed environment for youth, In 2022, Cell C evolved its 20-year-old initiative 'Take A Girl Child To Work Day" Initiative to SEE YOUTH Powered by Cell C – a more inclusive youth empowerment program providing both males and females with equal opportunities, resources, support, and exposure to more than just careers, as they pursue their dreams and passions. The SEE YOUTH programfeatures workshops, informative podcasts, bursaries, subject revision material, career guidance, overall wellness, and social relational guidance and mentorship opportunities.

"The day was not just about an event, but Cell C and its partners' commitment and understanding that for business to be sustainable, society has to thrive and economic growth is critical. We are each making a contribution to a bigger picture of nurturing the country's future through our youth. It's the role of many, not just Cell C and through SEE YOUTH programme we aim to play our part." stated Lethiwe Hlatshwayo, Executive Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Cell C.

Cell C is dedicated to partnering with organizations that share our vision of inclusivity and empowering youth, and through collaborations, aims to provide comprehensive and impactful programs that inspire our youth to reach their life goals.
Special thanks to our incredible partners for making the event a successful one.
