Cell C to give away R600 million in prizes in Spin and Win Campaign

Cell C is set to give away over R600 million worth of lifestyle, cash and airtime prizes in its new and innovative Spin & Win promotion, which launches on 1 October.

Over the course of the four-month campaign, Cell C will be giving away cash prizes ranging from R1 000 to R200 000 as well as lifestyle prizes including, Cell C branded devices, four Polo Vivos, holiday packages and dinner experiences to MegaBonus customers every time they recharge.

“Customers have come to expect great value from Cell C and this summer will be no different.  MegaBonus is our most popular prepaid product offering as customers receive three times the value of their recharge. For example, recharge with R10 and receive R30 of value for calls, SMS or data. We have now added even more value through Spin & Win, where every spin is guaranteed a prize,” says Jose Dos Santos, Cell C Chief Executive Officer.

Winning is simple. Any recharge of R5 or more on MegaBonus gets you a spin; every spin wins either airtime, cash or a lifestyle prize. Should customers do multiple recharges, they will accumulate the number of opportunities to spin. The more customers recharge, the more opportunities to spin.

Here’s how it works:

  1. For entry level cellphone users on USSD:  Dial *107# to be directed to the USSD prize menu, select a number to see what prize you have won and you can simply respond to claim your prize.

  2. For smartphone users: Customers are pushed to a WAP link via SMS or they can go into the Cell C App, click on the Spin & Win icon which will open the interactive Spin & Win slot machine. Spin and claim your prize. The more you recharge, the more you get to play Spin & Win.

“This is another entertaining and interactive campaign where Cell C users can have fun while being given the opportunity to win prizes. Spin & Win brings a different “spin” on user engagement by rewarding them for simply recharging using a game,” says Dos Santos.

This new advancement in gamifying cellular usage follows the launch of Cell C’s innovative talent search show called #Break the Net (#BTN) which can be accessed via the Cell C Reality App. This new show, launched in September, is aimed at finding SA’s next online sensation.
