Tiny Paws Rescue SA recently appealed for assistance when 50 Chihuahuas were placed under its care after the breeder was forced to close down its kennels.

The unexpected arrival of the dogs – older breeding pairs and puppies – was a mammoth undertaking for the NPO who now need help with sterilisations and vet care funding.

Says Suzette van der Merwe, Managing Executive Corporate Social Investment at Cell C: “Cell C was touched by their request for help and we are delighted to contribute towards vaccinations, sterilisation, vet care and rehabilitation costs for the Chihuahuas.  At Cell C we believe that kindness is a catalyst for real change. This is a small gesture of goodwill expressing genuine care.”

Says Lizette Muller from Tiny Paws: “Tiny Paws is a smaller animal rescue centre and we rarely ask for public donations. Words of gratitude cannot explain how much this means to us and these little ones!  The biggest thank you to Cell C and everyone who has supported us.”

The Chihuahuas will be put up for adoption once they are ready to be homed. For more details of Tiny Paws go to www.facebook.com/TinyPawsRescueSA/
