TRACE PARTNERS WITH CELL C TO LAUNCH “TRACE MOBILE”, THE FIRST AND ONLY MOBILE SERVICE SPECIALLY DESIGNED IN SOUTH AFRICA FOR SOUTH AFRICAN YOUTH!

TRACE meets the growing demand by SA’s youth for access to entertainment on-the-go, by launching TRACE Mobile in partnership with Cell C.

TRACE Mobile is the first and only pre-paid mobile service in South Africa that offers an unlimited music streaming service, free Facebook (via internet.org), free WhatsApp, free news and gossip. It also includes the TRACE Friends socializing platform, free airtime on every recharge as well as exclusive VIP and loyalty benefits at the cheapest price in the market.

In a country with more than 60% of the population under 25 and that will have 32.3 million mobile Internet subscribers by 2017, the digital revolution has created a shift towards mobile devices and in how entertainment is being accessed.

Consultation with the TRACE “youth dream team”, revealed a need for SA youth to live a non-stop immersive TRACE experience - beyond the living room and the big or small TV screen. They want to be connected to their friends and the content they love, whenever and wherever. Their mobile smart phone is the remote control to their entire lives.

Given this context, TRACE and CELL C have harnessed their strengths and innovative capacities to offer a new mobile service adapted to Mzansi’s millennial and digital natives.

Speaking about the brand new mobile service, TRACE’s CEO Olivier Laouchez says:

“TRACE is a purpose driven brand with a clear mission: to Entertain, Engage, and Empower the New Generation. The launch of TRACE Mobile is a giant step to further strengthen our ‘intimate’ relationship with millions of South Africans. With our partners Cell C, Universal Music and OnNet, we have redefined the ‘mobile’ experience to make it simpler, cheaper, more entertaining, more engaging, and more adapted to the tastes of SA youth.”

Cell C Executive Head of Marketing, Dr Doug Mattheus says: “Cell C’s dedication to innovation is only strengthened by our growing partnership with TRACE. Providing the best value offerings to our customers remains our key commitment and we are pleased to be able to welcome TRACE MOBILE to our family of value added services.”
